Cairo Nightlife

Cairo Egypt Nightlife - If Cairo’s days are all hustle and bustle then wait till night time comes then it all becomes a frenzy of activities. The Cairenes know how to enjoy life and this is seriously done when the sun goes down. It may be known for its Islamic culture but Cairenes love to party and that includes drinking and dancing till the wee hours of the morning.

Most nightspots in Cairo close around 3AM or 4AM but there are places that open up for 24 hours. The best time to enjoy a night out in Cairo is either Wednesday or Thursday when the Cairenes are really preparing for an enjoyable night ahead.

Despite the active nightclubbing industry in Cairo, most Cairenes stay our all night long drinking only softdrinks. Attribute that to the faithful devotion of most Muslims to their culture and beliefs. Thus, never force your Egyptian friends to drink alcohol during a night out.

Do not be surprised if you are taken by friends or acquaintances to their favorite cafeterias during night time though. This is just a disguise for baladi bars selling alcohol. The areas around Midan Orabi and Sharia Alfy are filled with these bars but do not attempt to go on your own if you are a woman.

The best way to enjoy Cairo’s nightlife is by going to the hotels since most of them have their own bars. The Cairo Marriot Hotel located in Zamalek boasts of the ladies’ nights so women who want to have fun without attracting curious looks from male dominated bars should stick to these hotels.

Mena House boasts of the Sultan Bar which offers a scenic view of the pyramids of Giza. The Grand Hyatt Hotel’s Revolving Restaurant at the 40th floor as well as Ramses Hilton’s Windows on the World Bar located at the 36th floor are alternative night spot that you can check out.

Popular bars and nightclubs in Cairo features belly dancing shows so that assures you that you will never leave Cairo without seeing the famous Egyptian dance. Women should however avoid the seedy joints and patronize the reputed hotels.
